Currently, we are looking for a Design Engineer Energy in Lummen (Belgium):

As a Design Engineer Energy, you turn ideas and technical input from engineers, suppliers, and specialists into smart, 3D concept designs that meet customer and packaging requirements. From the first sketch to a production-ready configuration, you shape every detail with precision using Siemens NX. Throughout the product’s lifecycle, you ensure that the design remains up to date and perfectly aligned with evolving needs.

Your responsibilities:

• Realizing prototypes of your design by discussing and solving feasibility challenges, engaging in technical discussions with welders and manufacturing engineers, working closely with component suppliers, and supporting component and tooling procurement.
• Design from an initial concept level to a fully detailed product configuration, ready for serial production release, based on the lessons learned from prototyping and testing.
• Creating and managing 3D models, 2D drawings and product data of innovative energy systems using Siemens NX.
• Designing products that fit within packaging constraints and meet customer CAD standards.
• Exchanging CAD data with customers and ensuring full design compliance.
• Actively contributing to the development team, generating ideas, challenging proposals, and driving breakthrough solutions.
• Preparing product release packages in Bosal PLM (including e-BOM) and supporting milestone and gate reviews.
• Providing CAD and product information support to other Bosal R&D teams and plants.
• Coordinating CAD work, from input and progress follow-up to job validation.
• Working according to departmental, quality and environmental management system.

Your profile:

Skills & Experience:

• Bachelor degree in Mechanical Engineering or Product design.
• At least 2 years’ experience in a similar (international) environment.
• Solid experience with CAD software, ideally Siemens NX and/or CATIA, and you know how to leverage these tools to turn ideas into innovative, high-quality designs.
• You are a true team player who also works confidently and independently. With your enthusiasm and proactive mindset, you actively contribute to creativity, improvement and innovation..
• You communicate fluently in both Dutch and English, enabling you to collaborate effectively in an international environment.
